Spice Trade

Acquiring their musical starting place as ‘newgrass’, an American term for the cross-fertilisation of folk and bluegrass designs within an improvisational, free-flowing hybrid, UK’s Spice Operate are designed around former Cajun swinger Chris Haigh (ex-Zumzeaux; fiddle). He continues to be joined within this brand-new venture by many staples from the folk and jazz picture; Frank Kilkelly (also Companions FROM THE Rosy House; tempo electric guitar), Rick Bolton (ex-Mike Westbrook and Content End; lead electric guitar), and Dudley Phillips (ex-June Tabor, Mary Coughlan, Womaks, John Etheridge; dual bass). The music group’s initial appearance beyond London was included with the 1992 Shetland Folk Event, and the warmed crucial reception afforded them there appears set to keep because they tour the mainland ahead of their debut LP launch.
