Spell

Tim Beckman (acoustic guitar, vocals), Chanin Floyd (bass, vocals) and Garrett Shavlik (drums, vocals) formed Spell in Denver, Colorado, USA, in 1994. Previously Beckman have been a member of the band known as Rope, while Shavlik experienced drummed with Sub Pop Information recording artists Liquid. When he remaining that music group in 1993 he started writing tunes alongside Beckman, who asked his wife Floyd (ex lover-57 Lesbian) to be their bass participant. While perfecting their abrasive rock and roll audio the group spent another year negotiating for any contract with main record labels, ultimately signing to Isle Records in Apr 1994. They produced their debut in August with ‘TK Name’, a 7-in . sole, which preceded their debut recording in Oct. Announcing its material as ‘sexually billed sound pop energy’, it received them comparisons using the Afghan Whigs and Dinosaur Jr.
