Biography
Given birth to in Philadelphia, PA, spirit vocalist Spanky Wilson (a nickname she received as a kid because of the spankings her dad offered her when she behaved badly) became a member of the scene in the past due ’60s with big-band recordings, moving to Paris in 1985 to keep her career right now there. With collaborations with so on from the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Lalo Schifrin, Marvin Gaye, Willie Bobo, and Sammy Davis, Jr., alongside her own single function, Wilson became a DJ preferred all around the globe, including in Britain, where musician and maker Can Holland (Quantic, Quantic Spirit Orchestra) spent a long time looking for her (she experienced moved to LA in 2000). In 2004 Holland finally discovered Wilson, plus they worked well collectively on two tunes for Quantic’s record, Mishaps Occurring, resulting in a full-length Wilson and QSO recording, I’m Thankful, which arrived in 2006 on Ubiquity.
