Although Southeast Engine hail from a lesser-known Athens — the cozy college town in Ohio, not really the musical enclave in Georgia or the cosmopolitan capital in Greece — the band’s music pays homage to many locations, coming in contact with upon the twangy melancholia from the nearby Appalachians along with the once-thriving indie scene in Dayton, Ohio, where many of the bandmates were raised. The group’s first incarnation premiered in 1999 by two Ohio College or university students, vocalist/guitarist Adam Remnant and drummer Leo DeLuca. With Remnant and DeLuca staying the only continuous people, Southeast Engine welcomed extra musicians in to the collapse, including keyboardist Michael Lachman, bassist Matthew Package, and guitarists Josh Antonuccio and Adam Torres. Southeast Engine’s self-released debut, Like Is really a Murder, a Secret of Sorts, made an appearance in 2003, adopted two years later on by Arriving at Conditions with Gravity. Misra Information reissued Gravity in 2007, kicking off an extended collaboration between the music group as well as the North Carolina-based label. The collaboration continued having a Steering wheel Within a Steering wheel, also released in 2007, and 2009’s Through the Forest to the ocean, which gained the band a few of its highest compliment up to now. For 2011’s Canary, Southeast Engine started dabbling with Appalachian music, concentrating a lot of the tracks on a imaginary family surviving in a hill town through the Great Depression.
