Soulstice

Biography

Gabriel Rene and Mei-Lwun Yee started tinkering with hip-hop back 1989. These were shortly joined up with by Gabriel’s sister Gina Rene. By adding keyboardist Andy Caldwell, the music group moved from a straightforward dance music perspective to experimental digital music, delivering fascinating vocals, deep home, and jungle/drum’n’bass with modern tempo & blues, jazz, and funk affects. Named following the solstice, once the sunlight reaches the best stage in the sky, the group converted into Soulstice to symbolize the soul’s highest stage in the sky. In Apr 2001, OM Information released Soulstice’s debut record, a 11-monitor trip-hop record known as Illusion.
