Souls of the Slain

New Orleans garage area band Souls from the Slain shaped in 1966, made up of guitarists Cornell LeBlanc and Jerry Heinberg, bassist Jim Hutchison, and drummer Billy Thomason. The group cut its tooth on the Crescent Town membership the Beaconette, starting for national works just like the Blues Magoos before putting your signature on to the small Rickshaw label to concern its lone one, “I CANNOT CONTINUE,” essentially a rewrite of Love’s “Agreed upon D.C.” — actually, a direct cover of Love’s seminal “7 and 7 Can be” composed the flip aspect. When Heinberg exited Souls from the Slain in 1968, he was changed by potential Radiator Camile Baudoin. Some additional lineup adjustments followed, with various moments the roster included guitarists Richard Rhodes and Emile Visitor. Souls from the Slain dissolved in 1969. Both edges of their uncommon, highly collectable one later resurfaced for the compilation Sixties Archive Vol. 3: Louisiana Punk.
