Another of the very best session groups that decided the audio and experience of reggae music at any moment in its evolution, the Soul Syndicate were hugely influential in the first to mid-70s. Their use Winston ‘Niney’ Holness, Duke Reid, Keith Hudson and many more was brash and fascinating and added another dimension towards the root base sound of the time. The core people had been Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith (b. 6 August 1955, Greenwich Plantation, Kingston, Jamaica, Western world Indies; electric guitar), Carlton ‘Santa’ Davis (drums), George ‘Fully’ Fullwood (b. 30 Oct 1950, Kingston, Jamaica, Western world Indies; bass), Tony Chin (b. Albert Valentine Chin, 28 Sept 1948, Kingston, Jamaica, Western world Indies; rhythm electric guitar), and Bernard ‘Touter’ Harvey (keyboards) who afterwards joined up with the Wailers. At one stage their highlighted vocalist was Freddie McGregor. This simple nucleus also documented for Bunny Lee because the Aggrovators because the 10 years progressed. Like therefore lots of the music artists that have produced reggae music over time, their brands and work stay relatively unknown beyond the genre’s cognoscenti.
