Sottotono

The Italian rap duo Sottotono (Undertone) 1st appeared in 1994 around the hip-hop compilation Nati Per Rapppare (Given birth to for Rap), where in fact the laid-back raps of MCs Fish and Tormento were popular using the burgeoning Italian hip-hop audience. Their debut LP, Sopratutto Sotto, made an appearance that 12 months; Sotto Efetto Stono adopted in 1996. Right now, Sottotono’s combination of Warren G-style Western Coast circulation with soul-inflected grooves similar to Bone tissue Thugs-n-Harmony was well-established. They shook points up a little with 1998’s Sotto Lo Stesso Effetto, dabbling within the intense drum’n’bass which was en vogue at that time. Tormento also begun to unveil a skill for performing that hadn’t previously been obvious. The duo continued to be mixed up in Italian hip-hop picture, collaborating with like-minded MCs like Leftside and Lyricalz. In Feb of 2003, Sottotono released Vendesi, a best-of collection that highlighted one previously unreleased monitor, “(Sei Tu) Che Mi Dai.”
