Sophie Bevan

British isles soprano Sophie Bevan was a graduate from the Benjamin Britten International Opera College, where her primary teacher was Lillian Watson. Using a repertoire that runs from Baroque to modern music, Bevan provides performed in operas, concerts, and recitals. She’s caused many prominent conductors, including Antonio Pappano, Edward Gardner, Neville Marriner, Phillipe Herreweghe, Tag Elder, Ryan Wigglesworth, Daniel Harding, and Charles Mackerras. She’s made an appearance in productions of Boris Godunov, Così enthusiast tutte, L’incoronazione di Poppea, Radamisto, The Mikado, The Cunning Small Vixen, A Midsummer Night’s Wish, and Der Rosenkavalier. Bevan received the 2010 Critics’ Group Prize for Exceptional Youthful Talent, the days Breakthrough Prize in 2012, as well as the Youthful Singer Award on the 2013 International Opera Honours. She has documented for Hyperion, Signum Classics, and Delphian.
