Sons from the Desert certainly are a modern country music group with country-rock leanings who also released their debut recording, Whatever Comes Initial, in June of 1997. The very first incarnation of Sons from the Desert was a Waco, TX-based bluegrass music group made up of McClennon Community University students who created the group in 1989. The initial lineup presented bassist Doug Virden and captured the eye of Drew Womack (business lead vocals, rhythm acoustic guitar), who became a member of the music group in 1990. 3 years later on, the group relocated to Dallas, TX. Soon after settling in Dallas, drummer Brian Westrum and keyboardist Scott Saunders became a member of the music group. With the help of Drew’s old sibling Tim as lead guitarist, the ultimate lineup of Sons from the Desert was set up. Sons from the Desert started playing regional dance halls, honky tonks and dance clubs, refining their mixture of country-rock and modern country. They remained on the golf club circuit for just two years before they captivated the eye of major brands. Ultimately, the group authorized with Columbia Information and headed in to the studio room with makers Doug Johnson and Johnny Slate. Their debut, Whatever Shows up First, was divided between primary music from Drew Womack (that have been frequently co-written by authors like Steve Pippin, Pat MacDonald, or Tom Douglas) and materials from professional songwriters like Radney Foster, Charlie Dark, and Phil Vassar. The record premiered in June of 1997. The follow-up, Transformation, premiered in middle-2000.
