Biography
b. Oliver Lee Rodgers, 4 Dec 1939, Hughes, Arkansas, USA, d. 7 Might 1990. Rodgers discovered electric guitar from his dad and was inspired by B.B. Ruler, Robert Nighthawk and Muddy Waters. After developing his first music group at age 17, he documented as accompanist to Forest Town Joe Pugh in 1959. 2 yrs later, Rodgers resolved in Minneapolis, starting an extended association with Mojo Burford. He also documented with Lazy Costs Lucas. In the first 70s Rodgers experienced a spell as guitarist in Muddy Waters’ music group, and after some years from music, he created his own music group within the 80s, earning several music honours in Minnesota. His Blue Moon solitary ‘Big Leg Female/Cadillac Blues’ was voted ‘Blues Solitary Of 1990’ within the worldwide W.C. Handy honours. Rodgers only produced one full recording, which was extremely acclaimed on its launch, and tragically coincided along with his loss of life on 7 May 1990, before a tour of the united kingdom.
