Sonny Flaharty & the Mark V

This Dayton, OH, group is well known in 1960s garage collector circles for his or her 1967 single “Hey Conductor,” which following a local Cincinnati release on Counterpart was found for national distribution by Philips. This 45, a typically ominous fuzz-punker with an body organ, harmonies, and doomcast melody, was detailed like a breakout solitary in trade mags. However, based on Sonny Flaharty, it had been banned because of speculation that it had been pro-drug, although if which was true, what had been pretty oblique within their medication referrals. The group also documented at least an added solitary, and Flaharty do singles, by himself and with additional bands, in a number of designs, including rockabilly and MOR pop. At one stage drummer N.D.
