American-born, Canadian-based Sondra Radvanovsky is certainly often cited among the great Verdi sopranos of her period. She’s sung a number of Verdi jobs to important acclaim: Aida, Leonora (Il Trovatore), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), and Elvira (Ernani). But her repertory is certainly hardly limited by Verdi, since it consumes Puccini (Tosca), Mozart (Donna Anna from Don Giovanni), Donizetti (Lucrezia Borgia), Dvorák (Rusalka), Bizet (Micaela from Carmen), Tchaikovsky (Tatiana from Eugene Onegin), and many more. Radvanovsky has made an appearance in a lot more than 140 shows in the Met and sung several times in the main opera homes in Europe, like the Vienna Condition Opera, Paris Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Covent Backyard. She’s also sung using the Chicago Lyric Opera, SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Opera, with other exclusive operatic locations in THE UNITED STATES. Radvanovsky in addition has carried out recital and concert function, with looks in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem, and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Though she’s made several recordings, her 1st main recorded work was issued just in ’09 2009, a Naxos Dvd and blu-ray of Alfano’s Cyrano de Bergerac, where she sings Roxane. She’s also documented for non-esuch and Delos. Sondra Radvanovsky was created in Berwyn, IL, on Apr 11, 1969. She analyzed music in the University or college of Cincinnati University Conservatory of Music and Tanglewood Music Middle. Furthermore, she was a graduate from the Lindemann Small Artist Development System from the Metropolitan Opera. In 1995 Radvanovsky received the Met’s Country wide Council Auditions and made an appearance in the Met Concert Gala that 12 months to sing Aida’s aria “Ritorna vincitor.” Her established operatic debut there is in 1996 as Countess Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Radvanovsky sang mainly smaller functions at main opera homes in the first many years of her profession. The new hundred years brought new lease of life: in the Met, in 2000, Radvanovsky sang Gutrune in Wagner’s Band and Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème. She obtained a global triumph in the function of Hélène in Verdi’s Les vêpres Siciliennes on the Paris Opera in 2003. In Feb 2006 Radvanovsky sang Roxane in Alfano’s Cyrano on the Met and the next Feb sang the function again, on the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Spain. Shows from the last mentioned production had been captured on video for the acclaimed 2009 Naxos Compact disc from the opera. Radvanovsky’s initial solo documenting, a Compact disc of Verdi arias in the Delos label, was released in springtime 2010.
