SomethingALaMode

Produced by two students who examined classical music on the Conservatory of Dijon, SomethingALaMode — or SALM — considered electro and techno after composing orchestral arrangements for Detroit DJ Jeff Mills. Featuring Thomas Roussel (violin, consumer electronics) and Yannick Grandjean (cello, consumer electronics), SomethingALaMode was created in 2006 when the duo had been doing work for Mills, orchestrating his concert on the Pont du Gard. 3 years afterwards they produced their debut in the Yellow Productions label using a self-titled record that included the one “Rondo Parisiano,” offering fashion developer/icon Karl Lagerfeld as narrator. In 2014 they came back with the record Endless Stairs combined with the single “Gadget Spark Weapon,” offering Dan Black.
