Solstice

Although these were initially hailed among the brightest lights of Britain’s doom steel revival, Solstice (never to be confused using the American modern proggies using the same name) released only two albums and one EP prior to going their different ways in the eve of the brand new millennium. Formed almost a decade previously by vocalist Simon Matravers, the music group included guitarists Richard M. Walker and John Piras, bassist Lee “Chaz” Netherwood, and drummer Lennaert Roomer. The group presented their especially sorrowful design via their Candlelight Information debut record, 1994’s aptly entitled Lamentations. The Halcyon EP (offering guitarist Gian Pyres, afterwards of Cradle of Filth) implemented the next season, but, Solstice experienced many business-related and inner difficulties on the way to planning 1998’s much postponed New Dark Age group album. At that time, only two first associates (Walker and Netherwood) continued to be, and regardless of the assisting hands of brand-new arrivals — vocalist Morris Ingram, guitarist Hamish Hamilton Glencross and drummer Rick Budby — New Dark Age group ultimately became Solstice’s last recording.
