Sole

The man who later be referred to as Sole, among the founders from the avant-garde indie rap label/collective Anticon, was created in 1977 in Portland, Maine, as Tim Holland. By 1992 he previously produced his first demonstration, attracting curiosity from EMI, whose offer Single dropped when he was informed he might have Jermaine Dupri as his maker, rather than DJ Leading. In 1996, along with his group Live Poets, Single released What’s EVERYTHING About, which brought him into connection with like-minded rappers (and upcoming Anticon people) Doseone and Jel. In 1998 Singular shaped Anticon with longtime friend Pedestrian in response from what they noticed being a closed-minded and stagnant mainstream rap picture, and Singular and Pedestrian shifted out to the Bay Region to officially begin their label. Immediately after, Deep Puddle Dynamics (comprised of Dosage, Jel, Slug, Singular, and Alias) documented their first record, The Flavor of Rain…As to why Kneel, and introduced Anticon towards the world. In 2000 Singular released his debut, Container of Human beings, and implemented it up in 2003 with Offering Live Drinking water. In 2004, disappointed with life in the us, he relocated to Barcelona, Spain along with his wife, and Live from Rome, his third studio room record, came out another year. Beneath the pseudonym Mansbestfriend, Singular has also documented and self-released three albums (the Mansbestfriend, Pt. 1 [2002] and Pt. 2: No Thanks a lot [2003] CD-Rs and 2005’s MY VERY OWN Worst Foe), one using the German label Morr Music, 2004’s THE BRAND NEW Human Can be Illegal, and something, 2007’s Poly.Sci.187, along with his individual Anticon. Alongside that discharge, 2007 brought two even more Singular offerings: the Exhile EP as well as the collaborative full-length Singular as well as the Skyrider Music group. A remix record featuring Unusual Nosdam and Dosh, amongst others, found its way to 2009. 2 yrs later he’d keep Anticon and discharge Hello Cruel Globe for the Fake Four label. The record highlighted his Skyrider Music group once again, alongside more available pop productions. In sharpened comparison, his 2012 work A Ruthless Criticism of Everything Existing was aptly entitled and motivated by his participation in Denver’s Occupy politics movement.
