Snowkel were a Japan band blending traditional electric guitar J-pop and components of Pixies-like alt-rock who have won some reputation with their tracks for anime series, especially the ultra-popular Naruto, but split after sticking around for under ten years. The trio was shaped by Shinya Nishimura (vocals/electric guitar), Masami Kabamura (bass), and Masato Yamada (drums), and proceeded to go the usual path for young rings, playing local night clubs — within their case, in Fukuoka — and offering their very own CDs on the shows. In addition they won an viewers award at an area music competition in 2004.
