Snapper

Noise rock device Snapper was led by singer/guitarist Peter Gutteridge, an unsung hero of the brand new Zealand pop picture whose réamounté included stints like a founding person in both Clean and the Chills. Snapper developed from the lineup of another Gutteridge-led music group, the Dunedin-based Phromes, as well as the lineup presented around the group’s superb self-titled 1988 debut EP included organist Christine Tone of voice, guitarist Dominic Rocks, and drummer Alan Haig. The LP Shotgun Blossom adopted in 1991, and seemed to solid reviews; following the following departure of Rocks, Gutteridge’s ex-Clean partner David Kilgour stepped directly into assume guitar tasks, and with the leave of Haig, previous Toy Like drummer Mike Dooley authorized on aswell. After a 1994 solitary, “Vader,” Snapper was efficiently decreased to a duo, with just Gutteridge and Dooley staying; together they documented ADM, released on Soaring Nun in early 1996.
