Biography
Hailing from College Park, GA, rapper Slimm Calhoun was raised hearing the groundbreaking hip-hop noises of Run-D.M.C., Kurtis Blow, and Grandmaster Display. In 1994 he installed with Outkast as well as the Dungeon Family members crew, who got Calhoun under their wing. Calhoun agreed upon to Outkast’s very own label, Aquemini (via Elektra), in the past due ’90s. His Aquemini debut, The Skinny, was originally said to be released in middle-2000, but its discharge date kept obtaining pushed back again until Apr 2001. Regardless of the hold off, Calhoun held himself active by guesting on Outkast’s discovery record, Stankonia (the monitor “Gangsta Shit”), and toured with Outkast within the rapper’s Stank Appreciate tour, becoming involved on the medley of three tracks through the Skinny every night.
