Sleep Party People

Rest Party People is Danish multi-instrumentalist Brian Batz, who makes otherworldly post-rock beneath the stage alias. Located in Copenhagen, Batz and his live support band are recognized for putting on rabbit masks in overall performance and in promotion photos, reinforcing his music’s relatively surreal visual. The project’s self-titled debut was released by MBO: The Music Business Company this year 2010. He adopted it in 2012 with We Had been Drifting on the Sad Track via MBO and Bloodstream & Biscuits. For his third recording, Batz caused outside suppliers for the very first time, enlisting Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, Blondie) and Mikael Johnston (Mephisto Odyssey). Entitled Floating, it found its way to 2014, also on MBO and Bloodstream & Biscuits. Rest Party People’s debut for Joyful Sound Recordings, Lingering, premiered in 2017 and presented collaborations with vocalist/songwriter Beth Hirsch as well as the Antlers’ Peter Silberman, amongst others.
