Slaves

Natural U.K. punk duo Slaves had been created in 2013 in leafy Maidstone, Kent by guitarist Laurie Vincent and drummer Isaac Holman, both within their early twenties at that time. After conference Vincent around the gig circuit, Holman briefly became a part of his music group Bareface prior to the two made a decision to leave and begin in a fresh direction. With just one single guitar and a stripped-down drum set up consisting of simply two cymbals, a snare drum, and a ground tom (which Holman performed taking a stand), the set shared vocal responsibilities, forging a severe, vicious, cathartic, and distinctively British sound influenced by, amongst others, Crass, Refused, and Pleasure Division, and relatively much like the newer functions Gallows and Iceage. Desire for the duo constructed exponentially, because of their willingness to try out as much gigs as humanly feasible. Taking to the level searching like hipsters (or, as you early promoter place it, “like Run after & Position”), the music group amazed and stunned viewers using their abrasive sonic assault and sweat-soaked gigs, which often finished with one or both of these stripped towards the waist as well as the group pogoing constantly. Their 11-tune, 21-minute-long debut EP, Glucose Coated Bitter Truth, premiered in 2013 and highlighted the 15-second-long enthusiast favorite “Female Fight.” A fresh single, “Where’s YOUR VEHICLE, Debbie?”, implemented early in 2014. Their debut full-length record, Are You Pleased?, saw discharge in 2015. Taking advantage of their growing reputation, the duo came back the following season with another full-length, ASSUME CONTROL, featuring contributions through the Beastie Guys’ Mike D.
