Slava

A producer who attracts from footwork, bass, and post-dubstep, aswell as main electronic music forms such as for example home and techno, Slava (last name: Balasanov) was created and raised in Moscow before age of 12, when he and his family members moved to Chicago, Illinois. He spent many years playing jazz electric guitar, but after he graduated in the School of Chicago using a bachelor’s level in mathematics, he experienced producing digital music and DJ’ing. Along with close friends and fellow manufacturers Garo and Lokua, he founded an electronic download label, Instant Sound, and debuted the same 12 months (2008) using the nine-track launch Sunflower. After another Instant Sound launch (Neon Existence, 2009) and a 12″ for Potential Times (Thinking Tiger, 2010), he associated with Daniel Lopatin’s Software program label. Soft Control premiered in Feb 2012; offering the Britney Spears-sampling “I’ve Got Emotions As well,” the whimsical EP veered between alien-sounding ambient and sparse-but-lavish bass and could have been just like in the home on Werk Discs or Night time Slugs. Slava adopted in Apr 2013 using the jittery, footwork-inspired full-length Natural Solutions, another Software program launch. Also an achieved visual designer, Slava has kept a residency at NY City’s Eyebeam Artwork and Technology Middle.
