Sky Ferreira

Precocious synth pop singer/songwriter Sky Ferreira had developed a huge on-line following, caused Britney Spears’ producers, and be friends with Michael Jackson, all prior to the age of 15. Created in LA in 1992, Ferreira counted the Ruler of Pop among her years as a child friends, because of his 25-yr working romantic relationship with her hairstylist mom. She started playing Elton John music over the piano at nine years of age, before finding her tone of voice while performing in her regional gospel choir, prompting her to consider opera lessons to boost her vocal abilities. While documenting her debut record with companies Greg Kurstin, Dallas Austin, and Paul Epworth, she also made an appearance in Matthew Porterfield’s indie play Putty Hill and Uffie’s “Pop the Glock” music video, and supplied vocals over the Sneakers’ remix from the Virgins’ “Teenager Fan.” Her initial singles, “One” in the U.K. and “Obsession,” afterwards applied to the soundtrack towards the Vampire Diaries in the U.S., had been released this year 2010. A calendar year afterwards she released the EP AS THOUGH!, and in 2012 Ferreira came back with another EP, the five-song Ghost.
