Sky

Montreal-based pop duo Sky shaped in 1992 when Antoine Sicotte and James Renald met in college. They collaborated on tasks because of their music classes and started playing together beyond school. 3 years afterwards, they produced their very own record label, Phat Royale, and produced a demo Compact disc and video. When the video received airplay on MusiquePlus (the French-language branch of MuchMusic), it enticed national focus on Sky’s dance-pop and brought the group a cope with EMI. The group’s initial work for the label was the 1998 one “Some type of Great,” popular that laid the groundwork for 1999’s full-length debut Little bit of Heaven. The record debuted at amount six on Canada’s pop graphs, making it the best Soundscan debut for the Canadian artist compared to that time. The album premiered in the U.S. afterwards in the entire year.
