Skinnerbox

Skinnerbox (sometimes Skinnerbox NYC) was founded in the past due ’80s by picture veteran Jeff “Ruler Django” Baker, who have had previously used the Boilers, the Slackers, the Skadanks, and hardcore music group Murphy’s Law. Managing the songwriting, vocals, and trombone, Baker come up with a band with the capacity of leaping from music to music between R&B, punk, jazz, and pop variants within the ska audio. Aside from several compilation appearances and many cassette-only produces, Skinnerbox’s discography contains the full-length recording Tales from the Crimson (1993) as well as the compilation/retrospective Unique Crazy 1989-1994, both released on Baker’s personal Stubborn imprint. In 1995, Baker got time off to create the Stubborn All-Stars, with whom he documented and toured; in 1997, he came back to Skinnerbox for the recording YOU SKILL, EVERYTHING YOU Can’t, having a lineup of keyboardist/vocalist Brandt Sean Abner, trumpeter Dan Dulin, tenor saxophonist Erkin “Un Hardwood” Husey, drummer Adam Blanck, bassists Pierre Romain and Anna Milat-Meyer, guitarists Dave Hahn and Krister Jonsson, and extra keyboardist Guyora Kats.
