Skee-Lo was an anomaly within the rap globe of the ’90s: rather than content spinning violent gangsta stories or extolling the virtues of cannabis, Skee’s tunes were profanity-free, good-time tales having a self-deprecating love of life. Skee-Lo was created in Poughkeepsie, NY, and relocated to Riverside, CA, at age group nine. He was fired up to rap by Kurtis Blow information, admiring their down-to-earth quality. His “I Want” single, having a video that parodied Forrest Gump, became a big success on radio and MTV through the summer time of 1995, and his identically entitled debut album premiered soon thereafter. Five years later on, Skee-Lo resurfaced to concern his long-awaited follow-up I CANNOT Stop.
