Siti Binti Saad

Saad was a legendary taraab vocalist who could sing in Swahili, Arabic, and Hindustani, building her a favourite from Africa to India. She was found out as an amateur vocal accompanist and became the 1st East African to create industrial recordings. Between 1928 and 1939, she was therefore successful that documenting studios were constructed on the isle of Zanzibar designed for her. It’s estimated that she produced over 150 78 rpm information, which are difficult to discover today except on cassettes.
