Gossipy church busy-body Sister Cantaloupe may be the creation of Christian comedienne Trina Vond’ray Jeffrie. Jeffrie’s stressed childhood — including remains with her dad and stepmother, aunts and uncles and her ailing mom — was brightened by humor and her organic capability to make people have a good laugh. When her mom became too sick and tired to look after her, another of Jeffrie’s aunts had taken her in and produced her sign up for the cathedral. Jeffrie mixed her newfound beliefs with her theatrical tendencies, executing in the cathedral choir and executing skits for the congregation. Among these skits was loosely predicated on Carol Burnett’s “Handbag Lady”; a proper signifying but meddlesome outdated girl. When Jeffrie was asked the actual character’s name was, her eyesight fell on the cantaloupe within a close by fruit dish, and Sister Cantaloupe was created. Her creation was popular within the Dallas cathedral community, however when her mom died, she attempted to eliminate herself. The knowledge was a turning stage in her existence and profession, and Jeffrie became better in her trust and skill afterward, touring as Sister Cantaloupe and producing appearances in the Rhema Meeting as well as the Bobby Jones Display. She released her 1st album, Proceed! Cantaloupe! Proceed! in 1996, and adopted it with 1999’s Laffin ALOUD with god, the father.
