Sir Mack Rice

A Detroit vocalist and composer, Sir Mack Grain was mixed up in R&B/soul scene from the later ’50s. He was an associate from the 5 Scalders vocal group in 1956 and joined up with the Falcons from 1957 to 1963. Grain was later street manager for the brand new Falcons before learning to be a single vocalist. Rice had written several selections, probably the most well-known of which is certainly “Mustang Sally,” lots that is documented by many performers, including Wilson Pickett as well as the Youthful Rascals. Rice’s edition reached amount 15 in the R&B graphs in 1965, and was the only real strike he ever liked as a single performer.
