Singing Spoons

Produced in 1984 between senior high school friends Mike Coleman and Chris Gissendanner, the Performing Spoons originally started being a noise task that contains kitchen utensils and a phone used as “tools.” Producing a variety of experimental house documented tapes that ultimately progressed increasingly more towards rock and roll, the Tallahassee duo released several demos between 1984 through 1989. By 1987, the Performing Spoons started acquiring themselves more significantly with John Barlow (electric guitar) and John Hintz (bass) completing the lineup as Mike Coleman used the drums while vocalist Chris Gissendanner transferred onto electric guitar. Josh Clemons ultimately filled set for Barlow’s departure before their debut record Resin Cabin was self-released in 1989. Pursuing their 1991 Hype EP, the Performing Spoons known as it quits the next calendar year with Coleman and Gissendanner developing Ultraboy.
