Simone

Biography

Having had a promising starting among the big voices of MPB, Simone has recorded a lot more than 31 albums, increasingly abandoning the greater activist repertory of compositions by João Bosco/Aldir Blanc, Geraldo Vandré, Chico Buarque, and Milton Nascimento and only mainstream romantic tunes, with which she’s enjoyed international achievement. Daughter of the opera vocalist and a lady pianist, Simone relocated to São Paulo at 16, going after a career like a golf ball player (she actually was an associate of the nationwide group). She documented her 1st LP, Simone, in 1973. She was asked by Hermínio Bello de Carvalho to execute in Brussels, Belgium, and Paris, France, and documented the live albums Simone et Roberto Ribeiro Avec João de Aquino ? Bruxelles and Expo-Som 73 – Ao Vivo – Márcia, Leny Andrade, Simone, e Ary Vilela. Next arrived a tour with the U.S. and Canada. With João de Aquino, documenting the live recording Festabrasil – Simone e João de Aquino. The next LP arrived in 1975, Quatro Paredes, having strikes with tunes by João Bosco/Aldir Blanc. The very first big radio strikes had been “Jura Secreta” (Sueli Costa/Abel Silva) and “Encounter a Encounter” (Sueli Costa/Cacaso). In 1976, she documented “O Que Será” (Chico Buarque), that was the theme of Cacá Diegues’s film Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos. She experienced “Cigarra” (from the homonymous LP, of 1978) created specially on her behalf by Milton Nascimento/Fernando Brant. In 1979, she experienced her greatest strike with “Arriveçar de Novo” (Ivan Lins/Vitor Martins), that was contained in the Malu Mulher Television Globo series. The track was contained in the Pedaçoperating-system LP, which also experienced “Tô Voltando” (Maurício Tapajós/Paulo César Pinheiro), a representative track of the time of the finish of the armed forces program and of the advancement of politics amnesty. In 1980, she re-recorded another politics melody, the pacifist anthem “Pra Não Dizer Que Não Falei Das Flores” (Geraldo Vandré). She was the initial artist to take action, as the melody have been censored until after that. She was the initial vocalist to pack a stadium (Maracanãzinho) in 1981. In 1982, she brought 15,000 people every night towards the Morumbi stadium (São Paulo). Simone was employed with the American CBS, documented within the U.S, within the equal year, getting praised by critics. For the reason that period, proclaimed by huge achievement, she acquired strikes with “Alma” (Sueli Costa/Abel Silva), “Tô Que Tô” (Kleiton/Kledir), “Um Desejo Só Não Basta” (Francisco Casaverde/Fausto Nilo), “Você é True,” and “Iolanda” (Pablo Milanéz/Chico Buarque). She released Café Com Leite in 1996; the Compact disc was focused on Martinho da Vila’s compositions, with the writer sharing the monitor “Ex-Amor” with her. Simone provides continued to execute frequently in Brazil, Portugal, as well as the U.S. In 1997, she was contained in the Sony Music Celebridades da MPB (MPB Superstars) series (writing the privilege with Ângela Maria, Sílvio Caldas, and Cauby Peixoto, using a four-CD container commemorating 25 years of her profession (twelve months beforehand).
