Off-center soul and post-disco revivalists Silk Rhodes features vocalist Sasha Desree and producer Michael Collins. The duo is definitely from Baltimore, Maryland. Their 1st documented appearance was on Our Vinyl fabric Weighs quite a bit, a compilation released to coincide using the 2014 Rocks Toss label documentary from the same name. “Encounter 2 Encounter,” a plinking neo-boogie lower seemingly dusted faraway from an archive warehouse left behind in 1984, was flawlessly positioned between Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf’s “Strategies” and Mayer Hawthorne’s “I Want It Would Rainfall.” A couple of months later on, the music was released as the A-side to a Rocks Throw 7″ solitary backed with a sparse early-’70s-influenced ballad entitled “Discomfort.” Both edges were featured on the self-titled recording released that November.
