The productions of New Zealand’s Bevan Smith as Signer form a bridge between your electronics-heavy early post-rock of Seefeel using the dub-saturated ambient techno created by famous brands Basic Route and Wolfgang Voigt (Gas, Mint). Smith performed in some rock bands ahead of recording digital music. He began the Involve label in the past due ‘90s with the target to cultivate a roster that combined indie rock and roll with consumer electronics; the label was initiated using a 1998 discharge from his alias as Aspen. He ultimately began documenting as Signer and debuted that alias in 2000 with an record called Record. 2002’s Low Light Dreams, the next Signer album, premiered in the us through Manhattan’s Carpark label. THE BRAND NEW Encounter of Smiling found its way to 2004.
