With her “soft, silky, mellow” voice, Shweta Jhaveri is becoming of Northern India’s most widely known singers of classical music. The very first feminine vocalist from Gujarot to attain international interest, Jhaveri is constantly on the awe viewers with her mastery from the extremely elegant, technically-difficult, vocal design of khayal. Jhaveri provides more and more branched out to musical civilizations from around the world. Her 1998 record, Anahita, was documented in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA with musical accompaniment supplied by program players including Will Bernard (electric guitar), Jenny Scheinman (violin), Costs Douglass (bass) and Jim Kassis (drums, percussion). Schooling, from age six, beneath the past due Pandit Vilasrao Khandekar, Jhaveri spent eight years learning and executing with important North Indian vocalist Pandit Jasrai.
