Mixing blues, folk and carnival music, Shoulder blades traces its origins to the conference of vocalist Michael Slattery and guitarist Todd Kassens in the University or college of Tx. They relocated to LA in 1981, and to NEW YORK; the two had been back Austin by 1983. In 1987, they created the first edition of Shoulder blades and released three homemade cassettes on the next couple of years. They ultimately added drummer Alan Gene Williams and bassist Chris Dark by middle-1990. After Shoulder blades gave well-received shows at the brand new Music Workshop in NY and South by Southwest in Austin, the Western label Musidisc authorized the music group; Trashman Sneakers (1992) peaked at number 2 in the French rock and roll graphs. They toured France many times, but under no circumstances grew a devoted viewers State-side though DejaDisc supplied an American offer in 1994.
