Shortfall began simply because an early-’90s loss of life metal music group called Simply Deceased that contains Rick Uses up (vocals, electric guitar) and Warren Gregson (electric guitar, vocals). If they added bassist Dylan Parker, they transformed their name to I Passed away Laughing and their music flavor to power pop. A calendar year afterwards, drummer Mitch Cruikshank became a member of the outfit as well as the music group was renamed Shortfall. Their full-length debut, Hooray for Everything, premiered in 1995 by Squirtgun Information. Their follow-up, From the Miserable Life, premiered in 1997.
