Shinyribs

Austin-based origins combo Shinyribs was shaped in 2007 by Gourds co-founder Kevin Russell. In the beginning begun like a single venture, Russell began playing a regular monthly gig in Houston as a way of earning supplemental income to repay a fresh car he’d bought for his family members. His workman’s part gig ultimately became a serious creative store for the prolific songwriter and blossomed right into a complete band offering Gourds drummer Keith Langford along with bassist Jeff Dark brown and pianist Winfield Cheek. Shinyribs’ music is usually a natural expansion from the quirky Texan artwork/alt-country that produced the Gourds therefore successful. Mixing spirit, nation, blues, and rock and roll, Russell’s new music group released its debut LP, Well IN A SHORT TIME, this year 2010 throughout a break between Gourds albums. The Gourds would launch one more recording, 2011’s Aged Mad Pleasure, before Russell finally place his longtime music group officially on hiatus in 2013 to be able to focus on Shinyribs like a full-time task. That same 12 months, Shinyribs adopted up with their second LP, Gulf Coastline Museum.
