Sherry Snow

Sherry Snow was one-half of Blackburn & Snow, a male-female folk-rock duo who have been probably one of the most unjustly overlooked SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA rock acts from the ’60s. Snow’s origins in the California folk picture that gave delivery to the industry leading from the state’s folk-rockers had been considerable. As students at San Jose Condition, she fulfilled and sometimes used Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Jorma Kaukonen, and Pigpen from the Thankful Dead. For a while, she resided with Kantner, Freiberg, and David Crosby in the same home in Venice, CA, when all had been battling folkies. In the San Jose espresso house picture, she fulfilled Jeff Blackburn and both started a musical and passionate collaboration. Although Snow and Blackburn documented some good full-band folk-rock for Frank Werber’s Trident Productions in 1966-1967, just four tracks had been released (start to see the Blackburn & Snow access for information). Luckily, those tracks and so many more that they do during the period had been released in 1999 within the good 20-song Compact disc Something for YOUR MIND. Snow then became a member of Dan Hicks & His Sizzling Licks, and sang on his initial album, 1969’s Primary Recordings. Snow after that still left the music business. In the first 21st century, today going with the name Halimah Collingwood, she was functioning as a mass media planner for the Mainstream Mass media Task, and hosting a global music program with an Arcata, CA, radio place.
