As much misconception simply because musician, singer/songwriter Shelagh McDonald seemed poised to emerge simply because a major tone of voice in Uk folk music when she abruptly vanished mere a few months following the release of her discovery LP. Blessed and elevated in Edinburgh, Scotland, McDonald found its way to London sometime in the past due ’60s. While executing on the Troubadour, she befriended fellow vocalist/songwriter Keith Xmas, who would verify instrumental in getting her an archive cope with the B&C label. Recording adopted in 1970 to good evaluations but mediocre product sales, but 1971’s Stargazer was a significantly different tale. With McDonald dubbed “the brand new Sandy Denny” from the U.K. music press, the record was a crucial smash and offered respectably. Using the Compact disc re-release of Recording and Stargazer, her music was embraced by way of a new era of enthusiasts, and in 2005 Castle/Sanctuary released Allow No Man Take Your Thyme, a compilation of McDonald’s full recorded result, including outtakes and demos. 2005 also was the entire year McDonald finally resurfaced.
