The stage name of English D.We.Y. gloom-pop vocalist/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Laura Kidd, London-based She Makes Battle draws motivation from performers like Echo & the Bunnymen, the Breeders, My Brightest Gemstone, Kitty Power, Suede, and Bikini Destroy. Kidd’s 1st outing beneath the moniker, 2010’s Disarm, released viewers to her beguiling mixture of pastoral fantasy pop and goth-inflected contemporary rock and roll. The atmospheric and traveling Little Battles came two years later on and in 2015, Kidd had written and made an appearance in her personal biographical one-woman display, Sh*t Sweetheart, which blended funny prose with melancholy music. in 2016 she released her third studio room long-player, Path of Travel, which highlighted guest performances from Tanya Donelly and Tag Chadwick.
