Shawn Loescher

Some music artists can pinpoint as soon as they caught their big break in the music business, and in alto saxophonist Shawn Loescher’s case, it had been at age 15 in NORTH PARK, CA, when he was discovered in the past due ’80s by jazz guitarist Art Johnson and fellow saxophonist Gary Scott. Quickly thereafter, Loescher started performing in public areas regularly, and in addition signed to perform transcriptions and agreements for Tom Waits. Sensing that he wished to completely recognize his musical potential, Loescher momentarily place his budding profession on hold to go east to Boston, MA, to wait the renowned Berklee University of Music in 1992 (even while still selecting time and energy to continue using music artists including drummer Louie Bellson, plus two of his very own groupings). Upon graduating from Berklee in 1995 (and earning the Woodwind Accomplishment Prize for jazz saxophone), Loescher relocated to European countries, where he started teaching on the Conservatory of Bratislava within the Slovak Republic. It had been during this time period that Loescher produced his very own trio and performed Eddie Sauter’s “Concentrate Collection” (that was originally created for tenor saxophonist Stan Getz) for sax and string orchestra, while also composing his very own original traditional and jazz compositions. In 1997, Loescher was presented with a commission in the Western european Sacred Music Celebration to make a function that mixed both styles. The summertime of 1999 noticed the discharge of Length, Loescher’s debut documenting along with his trio, but soon after its discharge, Loescher split the trio to spotlight dealing with vocalist Tag Murphy. Furthermore, Loescher also started recording along with his mentor, Artwork Johnson.
