Biography

Shao (pronounced shaw-oh) Rong is really a Chinese-born musician located in Japan who plays the Chinese pipa (pronounced pee-pah), a four-string lute. She started acquiring piano lessons at five and lute lessons at ten. When she is at her second yr of junior senior high school, she put on the newly founded Beijing Country wide Central Music Institute and was one of the five college students from 20,000 candidates chosen to wait. She analyzed the pipa in the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under Liu Dehai, a expert of the device. Graduating from university in 1987, she came back to her house in Shanghai and became a member of the Country wide Folk Music Music group as a presented soloist. She relocated to Japan in 1989 to wait Tokyo National University or college and continued to be in Japan after graduating. In 1998, she became a member of Tempyo-Gafu, an Asian ancient-music ensemble, which toured the U.S. She performed like a soloist using the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in July 1998 and with the Sapporo Symphony in Apr 1999. Her appearance on the Skillet Pacific Music Celebration in Sapporo in July 1999 enticed international attention. Agreed upon to Pacific Moon Information, she released her debut single album Orchid within the U.S. in January 2001.
