Shanren

Chinese language indie folk quartet Shanren shaped in 2000 in the country’s remote control Yunnan province. Presently located in Beijing, the group fuses collectively a variety of indigenous music, rock and roll, reggae, as well as ska, using traditional tools just like the four-stringed xiangzi as well as the xianggu drum. Shanren feature people from various local ethnic minorities just like the Wa and Buyi from Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, and incorporate components of those folk heritages to their music.
