A few of the most influential music in the annals of Indian movie theater were composed by Shankar-Jaikishan, a music direction/structure duo featuring Shankarsingh Raghwanshi and Jaikishen Dayabhai Panchal. Composing music for the lyrics of Hasrat Jaipuri, the duo made such memorable music as “Ranhaiya,” “Anari,” “Kal Aaj Aur Kal,” and “Barsaat.” Lots of the duo’s best music had been sung in movies by Lata Mangeshkar.
