Shane Endsley


Brooklyn-based trumpeter/percussionist Shane Endsley can be an avant-garde, jazz, and post-rock-leaning musician who finds work across a wide spectral range of musical styles from folk to free of charge improvisation. Blessed in Denver, Endsley examined trumpet, percussion, and structure on the Eastman College of Music. After graduating, he discovered work executing with many name performers, including vocalist/songwriter Ani DiFranco and saxophonist Ravi Coltrane. Endsley is really a founding person in the post-rock/jazz clothing Kneebody — most of whose associates met while participating in Eastman — and it has made an appearance on many albums using the ensemble, like the group’s 2005 studio room debut on trumpeter Dave Douglas’ Greenleaf label. A normal performer with such downtown N.Con.C. artists simply because trumpeter Ralph Alessi — with whom he frequently has drums — and saxophonist Tim Berne, Endsley released his debut single album, 2nd Think, in 2002 on WenEnd Music. In 2007, Down Defeat magazine selected Endsley among the Best 25 trumpeters of his era. In 2011, he came back with Then your Various other on Low Electrical Information.
