Joe Boston writes and makes warm yet melancholy electronic pop beneath the name Shallou. His tracks are generally shiny and dazzling and consist of midtempo beats, however as calm and summery because they appear, the lyrics tend to be quite sorrowful and forlorn. Primarily located in New Orleans, Boston started producing music as Shallou in 2014, and shifted to Chicago immediately after. While his early tracks presented his vocals, these were generally fragmented and textural; it wasn’t until later on that he started composing completely lyrical tracks. The 2016 singles “Question (Summer season Edit)” and exotic house monitor “Heights” received very much on-line play, and Shallou (with Boston became a member of by Emilio Quezada) toured with performers such as Un Ten Eleven and Roosevelt. In 2017, Shallou released a cover of Radiohead’s “FILM Soundtrack” and a genuine EP entitled All Turns into Okay.
