Biography
Award-winning Persian-American singer Shakila provides performed both classical and pop music in dialects including Persian, Kurdish, Turkish, Spanish, and British. Inspired with the poet Rumi, a lot of her tracks deal with like, peacefulness, and spirituality while her tone of voice has drawn evaluations to Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Norah Jones. Delivered in Tehran and located in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, Shakila began performing as a kid and was therefore gifted that she performed with an Iranian skill show at age group nine. As a teenager, she researched Persian and American traditional music with Mahmoud Karimi, after that moved to NORTH PARK to review music at Palomar University. She released her debut record, Kami Ba Guy Modaaraa Kon, in 1990; 2 yrs afterwards, Geryeh Dar Ragbar implemented. On her behalf third record, 1993’s Gheybate Noor, she agreed upon to the Persian label Taraneh Information. She shifted to the LA label Caltex for 1997’s Ersiehaayeh Aatefie and released albums on their behalf until the past due 2000s, where time she earned the Persian Music Academy Prize in 2006. She founded Shakila Corporations in 2013, and released a string of singles that extended her music into Latin and Traditional western pop styles, amongst others. In 2015, Shakila released the record 11:11 Town of Like, which won a worldwide Music Prize and was nominated to get a One Globe Music Prize. She released many singles in 2016, like the charting “Splashing Tears.”
