Biography

Shahin Shahida and Sepehr Haddad were friends a long time before they joined up with forces as a fresh age duo. Guitarist Shahida and key pad participant Haddad, both of Iranian descent, became acquainted if they had been both signed up for Iran’s International College of Tehran. Despite how old they are difference — Shahida was a lowly seventh grader and Haddad was a lofty upperclassman within the tenth quality — music drew them jointly. Like teenagers all over the place, parties had been a favorite pastime for the youths. Once weekly, the pair could possibly be discovered engaging classmates with addresses of “Stairway to Heaven” as well as other well-known songs of the days, despite their insufficient classical training. Both men talk about an Iranian traditions and their musical skills and styles supplement one another, but their backgrounds are different. Haddad was created within the U.S. capital, while Shahida is really a indigenous of Iran and went to elementary college in Austria. After departing the International College of Tehran in 1975, Haddad going to California, where he became an agriculture pupil at U.C. Davis. He spent his evenings ensconced within the region’s coffeehouses, executing covers of music made well-known by Kitty Stevens and Jethro Tull. Upon graduation, he going back again to Washington, where he once again teamed musically along with his previous friend Shahida. For Shahida, he still left Iran for the U.S. 2 yrs after Haddad do and arrived in Washington, D.C., at American School, where he examined finance. Motivated by famous brands Santana and Eric Clapton, he performed in several rock groupings. He spent four years within a music group known as Amsterdam before shifting towards the group Feast or Famine. During his years with Amsterdam, he opened up for Angela Bofill and Spyro Gyra. The music of Shahin & Sepehr was utilized by the Barbara Bush Literacy Advertising campaign and Brazilian soccer players followed it for procedures. The duo proceeded to produce a demonstration and Washington radio place WLLT provided the songs a lot of air time.
