Biography
A soulful, good tenor and alto saxophonist within an R&B, bebop, and really difficult bop mode, the former Curtis Porter had a limited period within the limelight mainly using Charles Mingus in the later ’50s. His shiny, spirited solos, which mixed bebop and blues affects, were highlighted on such Mingus produces as New Tijuana Moods as well as the Clown, in addition to within the John Cassavetes’ film Shadows. Hadi also used Hank Mobley. His early profession was spent with such R&B groupings because the Griffin Brothers so when section of a music group led by Paul Williams. Hadi examined structure at Howard School and the School of Detroit. He’s been inactive because the ’60s, but could be noticed on Mingus reissues.
