Shades of Culture

Part of a comparatively unknown, yet developing cadre of Canadian hip-hop performers, Montreal’s Tones of Culture are believed pioneers from the genre by many in your community. This trio from Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, comprising DJ Shade, Trend, and ? labored continuously through the entire ’80s and ’90s to master their substantial rap skills. The effect was Mindstate, a full-length Compact disc on 2112 Information. By early 1999, Tones of Culture experienced formed their personal label, Windmill Information.
